Starting the Conversation …

An image as metaphor for starting the counselling conversation.

There are times when we all need support and yet reaching out isn’t always easy. You might feel unsure about what the process involves, what to expect, or how to put things into words. You may wonder if you’re ready or feel that you should manage on your own. Practical concerns, like time or cost, can also come up. These are all natural thoughts to have.

My approach is to create a space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. As we begin to understand these experiences more fully, deeper emotions may emerge. We move through this gently, with care and attention.

The relationship we build is an important part of this process. Feeling heard, understood, and supported can help you feel more at ease, whether you come for a short time or longer-term support.

Many people find the first few sessions feel different to what they expected. There can be a sense of relief in having the space to talk openly, and to begin to put words to what may have felt unclear or difficult to understand.

If this sounds familiar, you might consider what a small next step could be for you.

I offer an initial 20-minute conversation at no cost to see how it feels, without pressure or commitment.

When you feel ready, you’re welcome to get in touch.
