Lisa is a qualified Biographical Counsellor MBACP (Accredited) and Transpersonal Arts Counsellor, with over fifteen years of experience working across charitable organisations and private practice. She originally trained with the Biography and Social Development Trust and, more recently, with the Tobias School of Art & Therapy, where she also teaches Biography as a guest tutor.
Underpinning Lisa’s way of working is a deep belief in the healing potential of being creative, being in relationship with the natural world, and the power of genuine human connection. Lisa’s practice began with a focus on death, dying, grief, bereavement and loss – themes she continues to hold with care – and has since grown to encompass a wide variety of issues. Central to her approach is the understanding that our struggles and transitions can become meaningful sources of growth and transformation, when met with the right support.
At the heart of this is her relationship with Anthroposophy. Lisa was first introduced to Biography Work through an Anthroposophical adult education programme in her home country Australia, out of which her commitment and passion for the work was born. Her continuing engagement with Anthroposophy shapes how she understands the human being, informing the way she holds difference, difficulty and inner conflict within her clients and their needs – enabling them to explore more inclusive and practical ways of working through their experiences, and supporting the potential for growth and development in client and counsellor alike.
Lisa is an active member of the Professional Association of Biographical Counsellors (PABC) and the Association of Anthroposophic Therapeutic Arts (AATA).
